Established GUI MANAGEMENT CENTRE in 1991 to dessiminate Oriental strategic management leadership philosophies and success principles. He has served as the external examiner for Ph.D. theses on Chinese management. Also, founder director since 1984 of the consultancy firm, SD MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS SDN. BHD., on regional development and environmental planning. His roles include being the project manager or study director in over 40 regional development planning and environmental assessment studies. He has written more than 50 research papers and over 200 papers.

He is a valuable speaker on Chinese culture and management leadership in over 50 public, TV and in-house seminars. He was the chief organiser of the first regional conference on Sun Tzu's Strategic Management Leadership Conference 1996 held in Kuala Lumpur in 1996. He is the well known column writer of the national newspaper STAR's weekly series on SUN TZU'S MANAGEMENT LEADERSHIP (January 1994 to present), which focus on the applications of principles of Asian management philosophies.
